Someone from Guelph is facing accusations of driving while impaired after a hydro pole in Norwich Township was significantly damaged in a crash. It happened on Aug. 7 around 8 p.m. on Base Line. The Ontario Provincial Police said a vehicle driven by the Guelph resident veered off the road and hit the pole. The driver had non-life-threatening injuries. The 35-year-old was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired (80 plus) and dangerous operation of a vehicle.
