Break-ins at two electronics stores in Guelph

Guelph Police are investigating break-ins at two electronics stores in the city.

On Thursday, an alarm went off around 3:45 a.m. at an unnamed business on Stone Road West.

Police said someone tried to pry open the front door. While no one went inside the store, a large window was smashed, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

Twenty minutes later, officers were called to another unnamed business on Wellington Street East.

Police said security cameras caught two males, wearing high-visibility vests, arriving outside the store in a dark-coloured sedan around 3:50 a.m.

The suspects used a hammer to smash a glass door and forcibly remove a security gate. Once again, a large window had thousands of dollars of damage.

Police said the suspects also smashed glass display cases inside the business and are believed to have made off with a large amount of merchandise. They did not share what was taken.
