3 historical plaques and 16 bridge dedication plaques stolen in Wellington County: OPP

Wellington County OPP is asking for the public’s help after several historical and bridge dedication plaques were stolen.

On July 29, a historical plaque marking the ‘Queen’s Bush Settlement’ was reported as stolen from Glen Allan Park on Side Road 17 in Mapleton Township.

On Aug. 15, two more historical plaques belonging to the Arthur Agricultural Society were reportedly stolen from the entrance to the Arthur Community Centre located on Domville Stree

t in Arthur.

Further investigation found that since May 2025, around 16 bridge dedication plaques were allegedly stolen from bridges throughout Wellington County.

The investigation is ongoing, and any updates will be provided when available.
