Nearly four dozen charges were laid last Friday during a commercial vehicle safety blitz in Guelph.

A commercial vehicle is used to transport goods or passengers, including transport trucks, buses and tow trucks.

Guelph Police said they inspected 34 vehicles and 14 of them were removed from service for various violations, which were not shared. They also laid around 40 charges throughout the blitz.

Guelph Police hosted the event, in partnership with Waterloo Regional Police, Halton Regional Police, London Police Service and Ontario Provincial Police, as well as the Ministry of Finance and the Canadian Border Services Agency.
