This may be the last weekend of the summer, but there’s still lots to do in and around our community.

Stratford Fall Fair

When: Sept. 18 to 21

Where: Stratford Rotary Complex

This free festival gets you in the fall spirit with livestock shows, laser tag and family-friendly activities.

Paris Night Market

When: Sept. 19 and Sept. 20

Where: Paris Fairgrounds

Guests are invited to step into Halloweentown and catch a fire show, listen to live music, grab a bite to eat and tour through a vendors market of more than 120 artists and makers. Costumes are highly encouraged.

Fest2Fall in Cambridge

When: Sept. 19 and Sept. 20

Where: Dickson Park

Canadian musicians take the stage at this two-day festival in Dickson Park. Friday’s lineup includes Dwayne Gretzky, Born Ruffians and Kasador, while Barenaked Ladies, Sloan, Julianna Riolino, Brooks & Bowskill, and The Advantage play on Saturday.

Homecoming weekend at the University of Waterloo

When: Sept. 20

Where: University of Guelph, Warriors Field

It’s homecoming weekend at the University of Waterloo! Put on your black and gold and cheer on the Waterloo Warriors as they take on Queens at 1 p.m. Other events include a parking lot party, yoga, spin class, fun run and facility tours.

Doors Open Waterloo Region

When: Sept. 20, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Across Waterloo Region

The public is invited inside 23 different buildings for free, to learn more about their history and operations.

Lumen Festival in Waterloo

When: Sept. 20, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Where: Uptown Waterloo and Waterloo Park

This free, all-ages festival is a must-see at night! Featured installations combine light and tech.

Kitchener Holistic Healing Fair

When: Sept. 20

Where: Bingemans, 425 Bingemans Centre Drive

A one-stop shop for everything wellness, from crystals to energy healing.

St. George Apple Fest

When: Sept. 20 and Sept. 21

Where: St. George

Apples are the star of this free festival in rural Ontario. Check out the community street party, a wide variety of acts on the main stage, vendors market and, of course, enjoy some delicious, locally-grown apples.

New Hamburg Art Tour

When: Sept. 20 to Sept. 21

Where: New Hamburg Community Centre, 251 Jacob Street

Check out various art displays, including work by students from in and around New Hamburg.

Taste of Guelph

When: Sept. 21

Where: 100 Westmount Rd.

This outdoor garden party features dozens of different cuisines. Money raised from the event goes to St. Joseph’s Health Centre.
