Waterloo man charged for making child sexual abuse and exploitation material

A tip from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre has led to charges in Waterloo.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service and Wilfrid Laurier University’s Special Constable Service launched an investigation in November 2025 after they received allegations about a Waterloo man.

The 18-year-old man was charged on Monday with possession of child sexual assault and exploitation material and making child sexual assault and exploitation material.

Charges regarding child sexual abuse and exploitation material formerly used the term “child pornography.”
