Waterloo home invasion leads to assault with a weapon: WRPS

Waterloo Regional Police say one person was assaulted during a reported home invasion in Waterloo.

On Wednesday, at approximately 12 a.m., officers responded to the area of Margaret Avenue North and Washington Avenue.

Police said three masked males and one female entered a residence, assaulted the victim with a weapon, then fled the area in an unidentified vehicle. The victim had only minor physical injuries.

Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services were called to the home but police said the victim did not need to go to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.

Investigators believe it was a targeted incident, which is now in the hands of the WRPS’ Break and Enter, Auto Theft, and Robbery (BEAR) Unit.

Neighbours on Margaret Avenue North, Washington Avenue and Lincoln Road are asked to check their home security video for any suspicious people or vehicles between 7 p.m. on March 3 to 12:30 a.m. on March 4.

Anyone with information that can help with the investigation is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
