Thousands of cannabis plants seized from illegal grow op in Kitchener

A Kitchener man has been charged as part of an illegal grow op bust in Kitchener.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service and Kitchener Fire Department teamed up to search a commercial building in the Borden Avenue South and Charles Street East area on Wednesday.

Once inside, officers said they found and seized 3,500 cannabis plants.

A 46-year-old man has been charged with cultivate, propagate or harvest any cannabis plant at a place that is not their dwelling house.
