Home near Rockwood destroyed by fire

A home near Rockwood has been destroyed by a fire.

In an email to CTV News, Milton Fire said they were called to a house on First Line Nassagaweya, north of Side Rd 28, around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

When crews arrived, the home was already engulfed. The residents of the home were able to get outside safely according to Deputy Fire Chief Matt Townsend.

Around 30 firefighters helped to extinguish the flames. Townsend said the structure was considered to be a total loss, so crews focused on making sure nothing else nearby caught fire.

Milton Fire continued to investigate the cause of the fire on Wednesday morning.
