Strong winds expected in southwestern Ontario

High speed winds are expected on Friday in southwestern Ontario, including Waterloo Region, Guelph and Brantford.

Environment Canada, who initially released a weather statement on Thursday about strong winds in Stratford, is now stating Waterloo Region, Guelph, Brantford and their surrounding areas will also experience the same conditions.

Winds are expected to gust up to 70 to 90 km/h beginning late Friday morning, as a low pressure system moves over northeastern Ontario, continuing into the evening.

Much of the affected areas will be seeing a mix of sun and cloud today, with a chance for showers in the afternoon.
