Projectile from imitation gun hits woman in the face

A Kitchener man is facing a long list of charges after a woman was hit in the face with a projectile from an imitation weapon.

Waterloo Regional Police said gunshots were reported in the area of Victoria Street North and Weber Street West around 3:35 a.m. Monday.

“Through investigation, it was determined that a male suspect discharged a weapon, believed to be a BB gun, striking a victim in the face,” a media release said. “The victim, a 33-year-old female, sustained minor physical injuries.”

On Wednesday, a search warrant was carried out at home on King Street West where officers seized three imitation guns.

A 27-year-old man from Kitchener was arrested and charged with using an imitation firearm, careless use of a firearm, discharging an air gun with intent, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, assault with a weapon and uttering threats to cause death.
