Waterloo Regional Police are asking for the public’s help as officers investigate an incident connected to a well-being check and attempt to locate the occupants of a vehicle that may have information relevant to the case. In a public appeal issued Sunday, police said investigators are looking to speak with the driver and occupants of a vehicle in relation to an ongoing well-being check in Kitchener. According to police, a witness observed a concerning interaction in the parking lot of a natural area located at 3595 King Street East. A male was seen escorting a female into a vehicle after the female had been seen climbing a hill near a pedestrian bridge. Police say the suspect vehicle is believed to be a black 2021–2023 Kia Sorento displaying a Nova Scotia licence plate. “This does appear to be an isolated incident and investigators believe the individuals are known to each other,” Const. Chris Iden stated in an email to CTV News. Investigators say they are looking for a white male who is around 40 years old, has a thin build, short grey hair, nearly bald, a slight beard, and was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes. They are also looking for a white female who is in their late 20s to early 30s, has orange/blonde hair, and was last seen wearing a burgundy sweater and black leggings.
