A University of Waterloo building was briefly closed Friday because of an alleged bomb threat. Officers with the Waterloo Regional Police Service were called to the school of pharmacy building at the intersection of King Street West and Victoria Street South in Kitchener after the threat was reported. Officers determined the threat was unsubstantiated. During the investigation, the school was closed but later reopened when investigators had ensured the building was safe. Police are still trying to determine where the threat came from. Anyone with more information is urged to reach out. In a statement emailed to CTV News, police said similar threats were also directed at other locations across the country, including Western University’s Medical Sciences building.
