Man arrested as police investigate six robberies in Kitchener and Waterloo

A man has been arrested as part of an investigation into six robberies in Kitchener and Waterloo.

Waterloo Regional Police Service officers were called to a robbery at a commercial property in the Westforest Trail and Highland Road West area on Monday around 4:30 a.m.

Police were told the suspect entered a business and pointed a spray canister at a victim while demanding merchandise. The suspect then took off on a dark coloured e-scooter.

Police said they had been investigating other similar robberies in that same area.

At 10:50 a.m., a 39-year-old Kitchener man was arrested.

Officer later searched the man’s home and found stolen property.
