The votes are in and a new batch of snowplows in the City of Kitchener have been named. Residents were invited to submit naming ideas for the fleet, which were then whittled down to a shortlist. Voting opened up to the public in January, and once more than 1,500 votes were tabulated, there were seven winners. Don’t be surprised to see Ka-Plow, Hippoplowtamus, Plowy McPlowface, Lederplowsen, Sub-Zero Hero, The Snowbliterator and Blade Runner hit the streets. They follow in the footsteps, or rather tire tracks, of former winners Scoopy Doo, Plowasaurus Rex, Baby Snowda and Mr. Plow. Designs for the new plows will be debuted during Public Works Week in May.
