Laurier welcomes Ontario's plan to support new campuses in Milton and Brampton

Wilfrid Laurier University is welcoming the province’s commitment to establish new post-secondary campuses in Milton and Brampton.

The university has been working with the Town of Milton and other public and private-sector partners for more than eight years to develop plans for a university campus in the community.

In 2014, Milton agreed to donate 150 acres of land valued at $50 million to the university as part of its endorsement of the Laurier Milton campus plan.

“Milton is one of the fastest-growing communities in Canada with a diverse and highly educated population. A university campus will strengthen and compliment the Town’s vision of a diversified workforce to drive economic prosperity and meet the evolving needs of Ontario’s economy,” said Max Blouw, president and vice-chancellor of Wilfrid Laurier University in a press release.
