KW Titans fans filled up half of Edelweiss Tavern in Kitchener Tuesday night, for a watch party to see their team play Game 3 of the Basketball Super League championship. The Titans were in Sudbury with a chance to sweep the best of five series. “Didn’t expect so many people to be here. But it’s nice to see all the friendly faces,” Matt Rohrbacher, a KW Titans fan said. “It means a lot to have the KW Titans fans come out here to Edelweiss Tavern. We’ve got Fitz the Whip here. We got a lot of longtime fans here and some new fans,” Jordan Dorans, a KW Titans fan said. But to the disappointment of Titans fans, the Sudbury Five showed up in front of their home fans and won game three of the best of five series 121 – 106 over the Titans. “Slow start to tonight’s game. But we’re confident they’re going to come back and win the series,” Matt Rohrbacher said. The Five held the lead for the majority of game three, up by more than 20 points over the Titans at different points in the game. “They just wanted it more. They played with desperation. Their back was against the wall,” Cliff Clinkscales, Head Coach, KW Titans said. “Just go back to the drawing board. Get back in practice. Watch film and get better.” “Coming off a championship, we’re in these types of games all season. So, it’s not something that’s new to us, not something that’s new to the guys. This type of pressure we’re really used to so, we’re comfortable in it,” Joey Puddister, Head Coach, Sudbury Five said. “They will win the next one at home too, and then pull of the win in KW,” a Sudbury fan told CTV News postgame. Titans faithful though, are still confident the team can capture their first Super Lillie trophy. “Chances of winning the series 100%,” Matt Rohrbacher said. “Let’s hope we can win in game four, let’s hope,” Jake Oswald, a KW Titans fan said. “We’re going to win,” Jack Rohrbacher, a KW Titans fan said. Game 4 is set for Monday, April 27 in Sudbury. If the Five win again, a final Game 5 would be played in Kitchener at the Aud on Wednesday, April 29.
