Kitchener woman plans to save for the future and spoil her cat with $50K lottery win

A building manager from Kitchener is celebrating a big win with OLG’s Instant Bingo.

Virginia Nowak said she enjoys playing Instant Bingo and Lotto Max, but this is her first big win.

The 57-year-old was at home when she decided to check her ticket using the OLG app and discovered she had won $50,000.

“I froze for a split second and stared at the screen in disbelief. Then a surge of excitement rushed through my body. I immediately started doing a happy dance — I just couldn’t contain myself!”

Her partner then triple-checked her tickets.

“He looked stunned, like his brain was trying to catch up with what he was seeing. You would’ve thought maybe he had seen a ghost!”

While picking up her prize, Nowak said she plans to save up for the future and treat herself to some recliner chairs.

“I’m going to spoil my little cat as well and get her some new toys and treats.”

She bought her winning ticket at Bill’s Super Variety on Bleams Road in Kitchener.
