Intersection near Mount Forest closed for several hours after hydro pole crash

An intersection in Wellington North Township will be closed for several hours after a driver crashed into a hydro pole.

Emergency responders were called to the single-vehicle collision at the corner of Southgate Sideroad 49 and Highway 89 near Mount Forest on Friday around 4:15 p.m.

The Ontario Provincial Police said when officers arrived hydro lines were draped over the roadway and a vehicle was in a nearby ditch. They said the driver was able to get out of the vehicle and was treated by paramedics.

The intersection was expected to be closed for several hours while hydro crews repaired the pole.
