A man in his 50s riding a scooter has died after colliding with a vehicle near the Carlingwood Shopping Centre, CTV News Ottawa has learned. Ottawa paramedics say first responders were called to Carling Avenue near Fairlawn Avenue shortly before 8:10 p.m. Sunday. The man was taken to the Ottawa Hospital’s trauma centre with serious injuries, a paramedics spokesperson said. The Ottawa Police Service said the man was being treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. A family member of the man told CTV News Ottawa he had succumbed to his injuries on Monday. Another person was treated at the scene but refused transport to the hospital. Police said on Monday that no charges have been laid at this time and “the matter is still under investigation.” Police are seeking anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.
