Mount Brydges man charged in alleged 3D‑printed firearm manufacturing investigation

A Mount Brydges man is facing multiple weapons charges following an investigation by the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service into the alleged manufacture of firearms.

Police say they were alerted on May 25, to information about potential firearms being produced at a home in the community. A complainant turned over a partially assembled 3D‑printed firearm along with ammunition.

Officers with the service’s criminal investigation division launched a probe and later obtained and used a search warrant at the home.

As a result, a 21‑year‑old Mount Brydges man was arrested and charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, trafficking in a firearm, weapon, device or ammunition, possession of computer data for use in manufacturing a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a weapon.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and was later released with conditions.

Police say the investigation underscores their ongoing efforts to address illegal firearms and maintain community safety.
