From Storm City to The Madhouse on Market Street: Jett Luchanko flies off to new team

One of the Guelph Storm’s co-captains is joining a new team.

The Brantford Bulldogs announced they had acquired Philadelphia Flyers’ prospect Jett Luchanko in a social media post on Monday. In exchange, the Storm will get forward Layne Gallacher and four OHL draft selections.

The trade comes less than a month after Guelph named Luchanko as one of their co-captains for the 2025-2026 season, along with Charlie Paquette.

Earlier this year, Luchanko appeared in four NHL games with the Flyers, averaging less than nine minutes of play time.

Luchanko made waves when he became the youngest player in Flyers’ history to hit the ice in a regular season game. He was drafted 13th overall during the 2024 draft.

Luchanko signed a three-year entry level contact with the Flyers in July 2024.

He returned to the Guelph Storm on Oct. 27.
