One more piece of the puzzle that is Waterloo Region’s Ion light rail transit system has fallen into place. A list of recommended names for the system’s 19 stops was made public Friday. According to a report from the region’s transportation development, the names were designed to be short, descriptive and named after nearby landmarks when possible. The recommended names, which must still be approved by regional councillors, are as follows (locations in brackets):
