Four people charged with kidnapping, sexual assault and robbery following Kitchener disturbance

Four people are facing a long list of charges, including sexual assault, kidnapping and robbery, as part of an ongoing investigation in Kitchener.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service received a report about a disturbance in the Commonwealth Crescent area on Tuesday.

Investigators said four suspects had assaulted two people in the area. Police said one suspect tried to stab a victim and threats were made. The victims’ belongings were stolen and then the victims were forcibly taken to a home on Isabella Street. Police allege more assault happened there, including a sexual assault.

On Thursday, police searched a home on Isabella Street and arrested four people.

A 26-year-old man from Waterloo and three people from Kitchener, an 18-year-old man, a 22-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, have been charged with assault with a weapon, sexual assault, two counts of forcible confinement, two counts of robbery, two counts of assault, two counts of kidnapping and two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

The 22-year-old man has also been charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order.

Police said the suspects and the victims knew each other.
