Complaint from Puslinch resident leads to money laundering charge

A person from Brampton is facing accusations of money laundering after a Puslinch resident said they lost $500,000 to an investment scam.

The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police launched an investigation after the victim came forward in October.

Officers seized cash, high-end clothing and purses, several electronic devices and personal documents during a search at an unknown location on March 27.

A 29-year-old Brampton resident has been charged with laundering the proceeds of crime, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and fraud over $5,000.
