Céline Dion is set to begin a residency at the Paris La Défense Arena on Sept. 12. She will perform 16 shows spanning through October. Her return to the stage will come nearly two years after her memorable performance of Édith Piaf’s “Hymne à l’amour” from the Eiffel Tower during the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics. In 2022, Céline Dion was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a rare condition that causes muscle stiffness and spasms, affecting her ability to walk and sing. She has been absent from the stage since 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic led to the postponement of her “Courage” tour.
