One person airlifted to hospital after crash near Mitchell

A crash is to blame for a sudden power outage near Mitchell on Tuesday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police, Perth County Paramedic Services and the West Perth Fire Department were called to the single vehicle collision on Perth Line 39.

Police said a vehicle veered off the road and collided with a hydro pole, knocking out power to the surrounding area.

The lone person inside the vehicle was seriously injured and was airlifted to a trauma centre. His injuries were deemed non-life threatening.

The road was closed, but has since been reopened.
