Charges pending after vehicle smashes into Tillsonburg storefront

A driver smashed into this Benjamin Moore store in Tillsonburg on Jan. 19.

Provincial Police are investigating after a driver smashed into a storefront early Saturday morning in Tillsonburg.

Officers were called to the Benjamin Moore store on Simcoe Street around 5:30 a.m.

They say the crash caused “significant damage” to both the vehicle and the building.

City engineers were called in to inspect the building, which houses apartments, and deemed it structurally sound.

The driver was sent to hospital with minor injuries.

Charges are pending and the investigation continues.
