Lockdowns lifted at Brantford schools

The lockdowns have ended in Brantford.

On Wednesday, just before noon, several schools were shut down while officers with the Brantford Police Service conducted an investigation.

Lockdowns were initiated at Brantford Collegiate Institute (BCI) and École Dufferin Public School, while hold and secures were put in place at Lansdowne-Costain Public School, Christ the King, W. Ross McDonald and Conestoga College.

In an social media post, at 1 p.m., police said they had been investigating a threat to BCI that had been made by phone.

“The threat has been determined to be unfounded,” they wrote on social media. “All lockdowns and hold and secure orders at affected schools have now been lifted.”
