Bears spotted in Kincardine, near Kettle Point

Authorities in two different Lake Huron communities found themselves dealing with unexpected bears Wednesday morning.

A Kincardine, a bear was spotted around 6:30 a.m. on Adelaide Street, in the town’s south end.

Police officers responded and watched as the bear retreated into a bush area on the outskirts of down.

More sightings were reported later in the morning, and conservation officers eventually moved in and relocated the bear to an area further from the town.

Around the same time the bear was reported in Kincardine, another bear was seen on Cedarview Drive in Lambton Shores, west of Kettle Point.

According to the OPP, that black bear left the area once it saw a human, headed for the beach, and hasn’t been seen since.
