Antique mall in St. Jacobs plans reopening after sudden temporary closure

An antiques mall in St. Jacobs is scheduled to reopen next month after it abruptly closed in February.

More than 100 vendors sold their wares at the St. Jacobs Antiques Market on King Street North. In February, they were told the market would be pausing all sales starting on March 1 due to financial challenges after the store’s bank account was frozen.

At the time, the owner said paying vendors was a priority, and the store’s doors would be shut until the issues were resolved.

CTV News reached out to the antiques market’s management who said the business was going through restructuring and renegotiation.

On Monday, a post on the St. Jacobs Antiques Market’s Instagram account said the market would reopen on April 1.
