‘Risk of burn injuries’: Children’s bathrobes recalled in Canada

A children’s bathrobe is being recalled in Canada due to a flammability hazard that could pose a risk of severe burn injuries to children.

Health Canada says the recall involves the Deux par Deux’s plush glow-in-the-dark bathrobes in dinosaur and unicorn prints.

“The recalled robes violate the flammability requirements for children’s sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children,” the recall notice said.

Health Canada warned that loose-fitting children’s sleepwear can more easily come into contact with ignition sources such as stove elements, candles and matches. Once ignited, the garments can burn rapidly and potentially cause severe burns over large areas of a child’s body.

The recalled dinosaur-print robe is blue and white with dinosaur spikes sewn onto the hood.

The unicorn-print robe features pink, blue, white and yellow colours, along with ears and a unicorn horn sewn onto the hood.

Both styles include self-tie wrap belts.

Health Canada said 287 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between July 2025 and May 2026. The robes were manufactured in China.

As of May 7, 2026, the company had received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bath robes and return them for a full refund or store credit,” the recall noted.

Health Canada noted that recalled products cannot be redistributed, sold or given away in Canada under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act.
