Dolly Parton’s sister is asking fans to keep the country music icon in their prayers as she continues to deal with health issues. In a Facebook post shared Tuesday, Frieda Parton wrote that she had been “up all night praying” for her sister, who “hasn’t been feeling her best lately.” “I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been (led) to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me,” Frieda Parton wrote. “She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine.” The post comes after the 79-year-old singer cancelled her Las Vegas concerts, citing “some health challenges.” In a statement shared to Instagram on Sept. 29, Parton said doctors had advised her to undergo “a few procedures.” “Given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see,” she told fans. The shows, originally scheduled for Dec. 4 to 13 at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, have been pushed to September 2026. Next month, Parton is set to receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the Academy’s Governors Awards in Los Angeles, in recognition of her long-standing charitable work. With files from CNN
