A Purolator campaign is coming to Edmonton in support of the food bank. The Tackle Hunger Red Bag campaign helps Canadians facing food insecurities. On Sept. 20, Purolator and community volunteers will drop off approximately 2,500 red bags on doorsteps in Edmonton. Anyone who receives a bag is asked to fill them with non-perishable food items. Edmonton’s Food Bank says the following food items are most needed: On Sept. 27, each bag will be picked up by Purolator volunteers from the doorstep they were left on before 1 p.m. This year, Purolator Tackle Hunger has already delivered 50,000 pounds of food to Edmonton’s Food Bank. In the last 22 years, the initiative has delivered more than 25 million pounds of food to food banks across Canada. Those who do not receive a red bag can donate online.
