Punjabi pop star Karan Aujla to play Rogers Place on May 5

A Punjabi pop star is making Edmonton one of four Canadian stops on his concert tour this coming spring.

Karan Aujla announced Monday he is bringing his P-Pop Culture Tour to Rogers Place on May 5 in support of the album of the same name. The Punjabi-Canadian artist, whose music is described as a fusion of Punjabi and North American sounds, enjoyed a breakout year in 2024 off the popularity of his album Making Memories, which was released the year before.

Aujla will start his tour in Vancouver on May 2 and also stop in Calgary on May 6 and Toronto on May 9. No other dates have been announced.

The album P-Pop Culture has earned 12.4-million streams, making it the highest debut for a Punjabi-language album in Canadian history, a news release from concert promoter Live Nation said on Monday.

The 29-year-old Aujla, who was born in India and moved to Canada at age 17, is approaching three-billion views on YouTube, and has collected more than one-billion audio streams, 17-million Spotify monthly listeners and eight-million followers across his social media channels.

Tickets for the Rogers Place show go on sale on Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. A presale begins Feb. 3, also at 10 a.m.
