Three interconnected Edmonton restaurants on Jasper Avenue are being recognized by the 2025 Dezeen Awards. Olia, Mimi and Va Caffè have been longlisted in the restaurant interior category. The spaces were designed by Vancouver-based studio Ste Marie. The three spaces each offer something unique and sit below the Citizen on Jasper, a residential apartment building in Wîhkwêntôwin. Olia is an upscale Italian restaurant, Mimi is a lounge bar with live jazz music on Sundays and Va Caffè is a daytime cafe serving sandwiches and pizzas. All three are commissioned by Chef Daniel Costa of Corso 32 Group. “Together, they create a cultural distinction, akin to a lively boutique hotel lobby, where hospitality, design and community converge,” the award committee said. The Dezeen Awards identify the “world’s best architecture, interior, design and sustainability projects.” Judges are looking for beauty, beneficial and innovative criteria when judging the categories.
