A local charity is gifting battery-operated cars to children with disabilities and specialized needs. Variety, the Children’s Charity of Alberta, held an event in partnership with Direct Energy at West Edmonton Mall’s Starlight Casino on Wednesday. “The Go Baby Go program offers a unique opportunity for sponsors, volunteers, and the media to witness firsthand the joy and newfound independence that mobility can bring to children with disabilities,” Variety said in a news release. “The event promises to be a day filled with fun, teamwork, and heartwarming moments that will leave a lasting impact on all who attend.” Each car will adapt to meet each child’s specific needs. The charity has gifted more than 400 cars to children with mobility limitations since the program launched in 2019. Learn more about the Go Baby Go program online.
