Homicide Unit investigating after body found in west Edmonton

EPS investigators comb through evidence, after the body of a woman was found in the area of 174 St. and Stony Plain Rd. Wednesday, June 4.

Homicide Unit detectives with the Edmonton Police Service are investigating, after a woman’s body was found in west Edmonton Wednesday afternoon.

Police said officers were called to the area of 174 Street and Stony Plain Road at about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.

When they arrived, officers found the body of a woman, inside a storage shed in the back area of the location.

As of Wednesday evening, EPS said the Homicide Unit had taken over the investigation, and an autopsy had yet to be scheduled.
