Families partake in fall fun at south Edmonton Harvest Festival

Town Square in Windermere was filled with fall activities on Saturday for the 3rd annual Harvest Festival.

A south Edmonton event saw families partake in fall activities during the third annual Harvest Festival Saturday afternoon.

Hay bales were set up at Town Square in Windermere along with a petting zoo, bouncy castle, outdoor games, prizes and other activities.

The festival was also taking physical and monetary donations for the Edmonton Food Bank.

Lauren Holden, the marketing coordinator for Currents of Windermere, said the event gives local businesses an opportunity to interact with the community.

“All of our businesses work really hard to have individual personalities, and it’s a great way to get to know those personalities a little bit more,” Hold told CTV News Edmonton. “It’s also a good way for people to try out samples and get coupons and all sorts of incentives to come back and shop here.”

It’s also a great way for people to come together, she said.

“This is a chance for people to see friends from the neighbourhood and to meet new friends as well,” said Holden. “There’s a lot of hanging out at home these days, and as the weather gets colder, there’s not as many exciting things to do outside, so this is one little thing that you can do this weekend.”

Harvest Festival went from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
