Edmonton’s largest renovation show returns this weekend

Hundreds of new products will be available for homeowners to explore as the Edmonton Renovation Show returns to the Expo Centre this weekend.

The largest renovation exhibition in Edmonton is back for the weekend, promising hundreds of local experts in all things reno, home design and décor.

The Edmonton Renovation Show first came to the city eight years ago and acts as a marketplace for home-related products and services.

“It’s really a great one-stop shop to start your projects off,” said show manager Shannon Novak on Friday.

“This home show is not only great for homeowners, but renters can come down to get inspired as well. It’s cost-conscious decoration and inspiration for anybody looking for that.”

This year, Novak said there’s an emphasis on the value of being face-to-face to shop for bigger expenses, like large appliances, landscaping vehicles or roofing tiles.

“With technology these days, and AI and everything that we see online, there are so many scams, there’s fraud,” she said. “You don’t really know who you can trust, and that’s what this show is. A great opportunity to chat with contractors, builders, roofers.”

Products displayed this year also included everyday items like knives and doormats.

Michael Wadham, a salesman for Vancouver-based company Miracle Chef, said it’s a great way to show off products that demand demonstration.

“Mostly everything that we look at in stores is within a box, where advertising has been done through television or media,” he said. “With that, you never really get to try and feel something before you buy it.

The show is being hosted at the Edmonton Expo Centre in halls B and C from Friday to Sunday. A full-day adult admission is $13.
