Albertan country singer Brett Kissel hosts Sherwood Park garage sale for charity

Fans got an unusual sneak peek into the life of Alberta country musician Brett Kissel on Tuesday.

The St. Paul born-and-raised singer-songwriter known for Canadian country hits “Airwaves” and “Make a Life, Not a Living,” hosted a garage sale with his family at the A.J. Ottewell Community Centre in Sherwood Park.

Among the various household goods were small treasures, like Brett Kissel-owned and branded hats or CDs.

Attendees were also able to meet the musician himself. He even signed CDs for fans who asked.

“I hate to admit it … but I come from a family of hoarders. We thought that we’re pretty organized, but we just have so much stuff that we’ve accumulated over the years,” he said of the decision to hold a garage sale.

“We’ve been on the road for so many years that we just buy more things … Now it’s time to downsize.”

Proceeds from the sale, which runs Tuesday and Wednesday, go toward charities like Alberta Dreams and the Golden Circle of Champions.
