Firefighters dealt with a watery mess in cold conditions Friday night after a water-main break in the city’s northwest. Footage from the scene captured a steamy, wet mess along 19 Street and Constable Road N.W. Firefighters responded around 8 p.m., and they say the water created slippery and steamy conditions as firefighters contained the flood to the curb and guided the water into a storm sewer. The fire department says city sanding crews have been called in. It added there are no reports of homes being flooded. The flood is a localized issue and not a major water-main break on the same scale as the Bearspaw feeder main, also located in the city’s northwest.
