The 2026 Queen City Ex saw a decrease in several types of incidents including assaults and missing children, according to the Regina Police Service (RPS). In an update issued Wednesday, RPS said both uniformed and plain clothes officers responded to 60 reports of missing children, all of which were safety returned to their families. In 2025, 76 missing children were reported. Police responded to three assaults, including an assault with a weapon and the assault of a police officer. A single weapons incident involving bear spray was reported but it resulted in no injuries. In 11 cases, consensual altercations were noted. These incidents led to no charges and the involved individuals were escorted from the event. Last year’s event had five assaults, robberies or other disturbances reported. One statistic that did jump was intoxication. A total of nine people were arrested for intoxication, up from just one case in 2025. Seven required medical assistance from officers, according to RPS. A total of two thefts were reported. The service noted its statistics only represent incidents that involved its officers, not REAL District security. The 2026 Queen City Ex took place from July 29 to Aug. 2. REAL reported 20,000 fairgoers took in the festival’s eight musical acts. The organization has yet to release a visitor total for the event. Attendance for the 2025 Queen City Ex totalled 74,655.
