A woman who captured a viral video of her encounter with a well-known grizzly bear in a national park in Alberta last month was ordered by a judge to pay a $1,500 fine on Wednesday. Brook Koski, a 63-year-old woman from Washington state, pleaded guilty to having an off-leash dog on a trail while visiting Banff National Park last month. Koski faced the charges after a video she captured of the encounter on Taylor Lake trail was shared to social media in July. The now-deleted roughly 90-second video showed two people —one man in front of the camera and another filming — backing up along the trail as a grizzly bear follows closely behind. A small, unleashed dog runs back and forth between them, barking at the bear occasionally. Appearing virtually in a Canmore, Alta., courtroom, Koski agreed to pay the fine. She has until the end of August next year to make the payment.
