Amherstburg’s outgoing mayor, Michael Prue, says he is looking forward to retirement after 34 years working as a politician. “As I was out there knocking on doors, I thought this is definitely my last time,” he said. “This is a difficult campaign, as you get older, it gets more and more difficult to walk all the streets. But, I met really wonderful people and if they choose someone else, God bless democracy.” Prue sends his well wishes to the new council after voters elected former Deputy Mayor Chris Gibb as the new mayor.
