The Montréal-Trudeau International Airport announced Tuesday that the arrivals drop-off area will close on weeknights from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. until Dec. 19. The closure is due to construction for the future Réseau express métropolitain (REM) station at the airport. The airport authority said patrol staff will redirect traffic to the departures ramp during the closure. The airport station, which will link to downtown Montreal, is expected to open by the end of 2027. It is expected to reduce traffic by serving about 20 per cent of the 35 million passengers expected at the airport yearly. The airport branch will be part of the larger 67-kilometre automated light-rail system that connects downtown Montreal with the South Shore, North Shore, and West Island.
