Three homes damaged in New Brighton fire

The fire at 137 New Brighton Green S.E. demolished the home.

Fire crews are investigating the scene of a house fire in the city’s southeast.  .

According to fire officials, the fire broke out just before noon at a home in the 100 block of New Brighton Glen S.E.

One woman was inside the home at the time and escaped uninjured.

When firefighters arrived, flames could be seen spewing out of a two storey home.  Fire crews extinguished the blaze, but the house suffered severe damage.

The neighbouring homes on either side suffered damage from the intense heat.

A female dog and her puppies were in the detached garage and were not affected by the fire.

The homeowner was insured and officials continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
