Owners of Ol’ Beautiful pub file to redevelop site, raising hopes it can rise again

Ol'Beautiful, a popular Inglewood brew pub, burned down early Sunday morning

A popular Inglewood brewpub that burned down in 2024 could soon rise again.

Ol’ Beautiful Brewpub was destroyed by fire on June 30, 2024.

The building could not be saved, but production of the company’s beer was taken over by other businesses to keep it afloat.

Now, the development permit application has officially been submitted to the City of Calgary by the property owners.

The area councillor says getting the brewpub back will fill a hole in the community.

“It was a bit of a gut punch to the culture that was beginning to emerge there,“ said Ward 9 Coun. Harrison Clark. ”Of course Cold Garden its very, very close neighbour, was a big proponent of that (culture).

“And having Ol’ Beautiful right there, you just had this wonderful little corner of a third space community connection,” he said. “I think when it was gone, there was the mourning of this cool warehouse industrial space that was host to great events and things that were very current and cool.”

The file has yet to be approved.
