Volunteers have organized a big turkey drive for people who need some help this Christmas. Local company Kulinary Records is behind the annual event, to give people in need a proper holiday meal over the holidays. More than 300 turkeys and other items were handed out Friday at the Max Bell Centre to families facing holiday hardship. “It just fills my heart with joy to know they are going to the right people,” said Farid Hamdan, one of the organizers. And while the weather was as frozen as the turkeys themselves on Friday, co-organizer Mike Foss said that didn’t reduce the demand. “Last year, we got rid of them in about 20 minutes and it was colder than this year,” Foss said. “So that just shows you the demand.” It was the third year for the event.
