New Lethbridge Polytechnic board of governors chairperson appointed

There is a new head at the Lethbridge Polytechnic board of governors’ table.

Janene Moch has been appointed to the role by the Alberta government.

She joined the board in March 2021 and brings a decade of experience in finance, education and governance.

Moch will serve as the board chairperson for three years.

She was raised in southern Alberta and graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelor of Management.

She’s currently a chartered professional accountant and says she’s thrilled to lead the board.

“We need to raise the profile a little bit in terms of what the polytechnic does because I don’t think a lot of southern Alberta recognizes how highly ranked we are in research, for example—top 10 in the nation for colleges. So, things like that, and continuing with some of our relationships that we’re developing with other post-secondary institutions,” she said.

Moch replaces Michael Marcotte, who completed his maximum six-year term in June.
